Step 1: Make Sure You Qualify
To be eligible, you must:
Be 18 or older
Have a valid Florida driver’s license or state ID
Have a qualifying condition like:
Chronic pain
Anxiety
PTSD
Insomnia
Cancer
Epilepsy
HIV/AIDS
Crohn’s disease
Parkinson’s
Multiple sclerosis
Terminal illness
Or something similar that impacts your daily life
If you’re not sure whether you qualify, don’t worry—Dr. Springs will go over everything during your visit.
Step 2: Book Your Appointment
Your first visit is in person at our Tampa office. Dr. Springs will take time to understand your symptoms, talk through your options, and answer any questions you have. There’s no rush, no pressure—just honest, compassionate care.
New patient certifications are just $149
(State fee not included. Veterans receive discounted pricing.)
Returning patients can do their follow-up appointments through telehealth.
Step 3: We Take Care of the State Application
If you have a valid Florida ID or driver’s license, you’re good to go.
We’ll handle your entire application with the state, so you don’t have to worry about uploading documents or photos. The system pulls your info directly from the DMV.
You’ll get an email from the state where you can pay the $77.75 fee and confirm your info.
Seasonal Florida residents? You may still qualify. Just give us a call at (813) 485-5954 and we’ll walk you through your options.
Step 4: Approval Happens Fast
The Florida Department of Health approves applications with an active Florida ID or Driver’s License
Once you’re approved, you’ll get an email you can use right away at dispensaries, no need to wait for your physical card.
Step 5: Time to Shop
After you’re approved, you can visit any licensed medical marijuana dispensary in Florida.
Not sure where to start? Dr. Springs can help you understand the different products, doses, and delivery methods based on your goals and lifestyle.
From smokable flower to tinctures, vapes, edibles, and topicals, there are options for everyone.
Step 6: Keeping Your Card Active
To stay in the program, you’ll need to:
Renew your card with the state every year
Check in with Dr. Springs for a quick recertification every 210 days (about 7 months)
We’ll send you reminders so you don’t miss anything. And yes—follow-ups can be done through telehealth.
